People soften around dogs. We get lower to the ground, speak sweetly, play and giggle like children. They have an amazing ability to bring our walls down, without us even noticing. Electra is no exception. While visiting a mental rehabilitation facility, a patient sitting in the hallway perked up as she walked by. “You’re so pretty! You’re so fluffy.” A nurse later explained that the young man had been admitted to the facility three weeks prior, and that his interaction with Electra was the first time he had spoken since arriving.
