A dog’s greatest trait is never her sit, stay or heal, but, rather, her simple ability to wash all of the day’s troubles away, the moment you walk through the door. Although Electra had certainly mastered all of her commands, she had also mastered the art of being the greatest comfort to her family. Cancer is an illness that we have all been touched by, in one way or another, and when it comes, it does so without asking. We do what we can to keep our heads up and cling to the good. For Electra’s family, bringing her into their home was the ultimate good.
